The Women In Defense – Palmetto Chapter has many opportunities for you serve in an area in which you already shine, or to expand your knowledge in a whole new arena. Our Leadership is made up of the four elected officials (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer) and at least nine Chairpersons and Co-Chairpersons who all work together to keep our WID chapter active in the ‘advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security’. We have a short survey where you can let us know those areas where you might like to help, either as a Chair or as a committee member. This is not a commitment on your part, but an acknowledgement that you may be willing to serve in an area which interests you. Whether you have the time to help or not, please take a few minutes to fill out our short survey. Let us know of your interest areas.

The Charleston Defense Contractors Association is hosting the 5th Annual 2011 C5ISR Conference at the Charleston Area Convention Center from November 14th - 17th. The Palmetto Chapter of Women In Defense will be hosting a table throughout the conference that will be staffed by our members on a volunteer basis. This is a great opportunity for the Palmetto Chapter to reach out to industry supporters and increase our exposure in the local community.
The Palmetto Chapter has grown exponentially since its inception, and our success is truly a reflection of our many talented and dedicated members. Our participation in important industry events like this one will help us continue to expand our presence and strengthen our organization. We will be sending out a sign-up sheet as the Conference approaches. If you are already planning to attend the Conference or know that you will be available to volunteer, please email the Networking Committee at networking@widpalmettochapter.org.
Mentors are needed to work with the students at the Citadel. See our EVENTS page for more information.
Joint Base Charleston is hosting Run the Runway in honor of Brigadier General Thomas R. Mikolajcik. We understand that this will be the very FIRST time that civilians will be allowed onto the runway, too. This is a 5K race in honor of Brigadier General Thomas R. Mikolajcik, with all profits going to the ALS Foundation in his memory.
